KFC MASTERS COMPETITION 2022 - FULL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Promoter
- The promoter is Kentucky Fried Chicken (Great Britain) Limited, Orion Gate, Guildford Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 7NJ (the “Promoter”). Any information or instructions published by the Promoter about the Competition (as defined below) form part of these terms and conditions.
Promotion Period
- The Competition will commence at 00:01 (BST) on Wednesday 10th August 2022 and will close at 23:59 (BST) on Tuesday 16th August 2022 (“Promotion Period”).
Eligibility
- The Competition is open to United Kingdom residents aged eighteen (18) and over who accept these terms and conditions only (each a “Participant”) and who are registered users of a valid email account at the time of entry into the Competition.
- Any entries submitted by agents, third parties, organized groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be deemed invalid and will not be accepted by the Promoter.
- Any entries that infringe the intellectual property of third parties will not be accepted by the Promoter.
- Internet access, access to an email address and the submission of an image and accompanying statement are required to enter the Competition.
- There is a limit of one entry per person. Entry on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
- The prize (“Prize”) to be won is:
- the opportunity for the Winner to visit the Promoter's office to work with the Promoter to create a new product that will be produced and made available in one of the Winner's local KFC restaurants for a period of seven (7) days in 2023 (the "Product"); and
- KFC vouchers which amount to one (1) year’s supply of boneless chicken (up to the value of three hundred pounds (£300).
- The Product will be jointly created by the Winner and the Promoter's Innovation Team and its ingredients will encompass existing ingredients that the Promoter already uses in its own products.
- The Prize covers the cost of all travel expenses incurred from the return trip to Kentucky Fried Chicken (Great Britain) Limited, Orion Gate, Guildford Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 7NJ.
- The Prize cannot be altered (unless expressly permitted under these terms and conditions) or redeemed for cash value.
- The Prize is valid for redemption until 31st August 2023 and is not transferable to a third party.
Entry to the Competition
- To enter, each Participant must visit the KFC UK & Ireland KFC Masters landing page kfc.co.uk/kfc-the-masters and submit an image and accompanying statement (up to 150 words) via the Competition Form (“Form”) which explains why they deserve to win the Prize (“the Competition”).
- The entry to the Competition must be original and must be submitted during the Promotion Period. Any entry to the Competition submitted after the Promotion Period will not be accepted by the Promoter.
- Participants must ensure that their entries:
- are an image under 25MB and in JPG or PNG format;
- are their own original work and do not infringe any third party rights (including without limitation in copyright, trade marks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or any other intellectual property rights);
- do not refer to or compare competitor products;
- are not defamatory or disparaging about the Promoter, its products or any other people, products or companies;
- do not include any brands, logos, trade marks or branded products (other than those relating to the Promoter);
- are not violent, obscene or offensive;
- do not depict alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons, or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous or illegal;
- are not sexually explicit or suggestive;
- are in compliance with the rules, policies and terms of service of the platform where they are posted and all applicable laws, regulations and code rules (and would not place the Promoter in breach of any such rules, policies, terms of service or applicable laws, regulations and codes, as determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion); and
- are otherwise suitable for presentation in a public forum (as determined by the Promoter in its sole discretion).
- Entries which, in the Promoter’s opinion, may be deemed offensive, discriminatory, inappropriate, defamatory or which are unlawful or in breach of these Terms will not be accepted and will be disqualified.
- The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, alter or remove any content posted on the Promoter’s platforms or require any Participant to alter or remove any content posted on their own feed or platform in connection with the Competition.
- The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Participant it believes not to be participating within the spirit of the Competition or suspects of participating in any unfair or unjust behaviour. The Promoter reserves the right to use its discretion in all respects and to enforce any penalty or sanction it deems appropriate.
- Participants understand that they are entering at their sole risk and that they are solely responsible for compliance with the rules, policies and terms of service of the platform where they are entering.
- The Promotor reserves the right to use the Competition entry imagery provided by all Participants for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the Promotor’s website, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and for marketing and PR purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited).
- The Winner will be required to sign a content release form and Participants understand that, by participating in the Competition, they agree to sign that form in the event they are the Winner. The Promotor reserves the right to use imagery and/or footage provided by the Participants for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the Promotor’s website without additional compensation (except where prohibited).
- The Winner agrees to be contacted by the Promoter regarding any future campaigns where relevant.
- The Winner agrees to provide a minimum of (but not limited to), two (2) images from the Prize trip to the Promotor’s office to use for PR and marketing purposes as they see fit in the future.
- The Winner will be required to share a variety of date options with the Promoter in order to arrange a date up until 31st August 2023 that both parties mutually agree for the Winner to visit the Promoter's office and create the Product.
- Entries that are not submitted in accordance with these Terms and/or that are delayed, damaged, incomplete, altered, illegible or otherwise defective will be disqualified.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are illegible or lost, delayed, damaged or rendered invalid for any reason beyond its control.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entries.
- Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this Competition should be directed to the Promoter.
- If at any time you wish to withdraw from the Competition, your request should be made in writing to the Promoter via email at KFCcampaigns@freuds.com.
- All entries will be reviewed, and the finalists will be shortlisted by the Promoter. The winner will then be decided by a competition run on the Promotor’s Instagram. The result of this competition is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
- The Participant that authored the winning entry to the Competition (“the Winner”) will be notified via the email and/or phone number provided within five (5) days following the expiry of the Promotion Period of the Competition.
- The Winner will have one (1) day from the date of the notification email to claim their Prize, by replying with information as requested.
- No cash or other alternative prize will be provided in whole or in part, except that the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize or Prizes for a prize of similar value.
- The Promoter shall have the right, where necessary, to undertake all reasonable actions necessary to protect itself against fraudulent or invalid entries including, without limitation, to request further verification as to your identity, age, and other relevant details.
- The Promoter reserves the right at its absolute discretion to disqualify entries which it considers do not comply with these terms and conditions, or any Participant who it reasonably believes has interfered with the fair running of the Competition.
- In the event that a Winner is unreachable, ineligible, or fails to claim the Prize in the time required, the Winner shall forfeit their Prize and it will be awarded to a substitute Winner, which shall be the entry that comes in second place in the Competition as chosen by the general public via the Competition on the Promotor’s Instagram.
- Details of the Winner will be made available on request by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Promoter.
Privacy and Data Protection
- Any personal data relating to Participants will be collected in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy notice found here: https://www.kfc.co.uk/privacy-policy and for the Competition to be run by the Promoter and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the Competition on behalf of the Promoter.
- Other than as set out in these terms and conditions, for the purposes of operating the Competition, the information provided by you when entering the Competition or claiming the Prize will not be used for any promotional purpose.
General
- The Promoter reserves the right, acting reasonably and in accordance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, to vary these terms and conditions.
- The Promoter will not be responsible or liable for: (a) any failure to receive entries due to transmission failures and other conditions beyond its reasonable control; (b) any late, lost, misrouted, or damaged transmissions or entries; (c) any computer or communications related malfunctions or failures; (d) any disruptions, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of the promoter; or (e) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this Competition.
- By entering this Competition, you agree to release the Promoter from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with this Competition or with the acceptance, possession or use of any Prize (except death or personal injury caused by the promoter’s negligence, for fraud, or otherwise as prohibited by law).
- Any question concerning the legal interpretation of these terms and conditions will be based on English law and the Courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction.
