    KFC UK&I 1000TH RESTAURANT GOLDEN BUCKET HUNT TERMS & CONDITIONS


    1    The Promoter
    The promoter is: Kentucky Fried Chicken (Great Britain) Limited of Orion Gate, Guildford Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 7NJ. Any information or instructions published by the Promoter about the promotion form part of these terms and conditions.


    2    The competition
    2.1    The title of the competition is KFC UK&I 1000th Restaurant Golden Bucket Hunt Terms & Conditions.
    2.2    Win one of the following prizes by entering into this competition at the selected KFC UK & Ireland participating restaurant: 
    (a)    1,000 trips to KFC UK & Ireland participating restaurants;
    (b)    £1,000 to spend in KFC UK & Ireland participating restaurants;
    (c)    A trip to Kentucky (USA) for the Winner and one guest.


    3    How to enter
    3.1    The competition will run from 10:30 (GMT) on Saturday 19 February 2022 (the "Opening Date") to 23:00 (GMT) or the closing time of the participating restaurants on Sunday 20 February 2022 or once all prizes have been redeemed, whichever is earlier (the "Closing Date"). The period between the Opening Date and the Closing Date shall mean the "Promotion Period".
    3.2    All competition entries must happen no later than the Closing Date. No competition entries will be accepted after the Closing Date and are automatically disqualified.
    3.3    To enter the competition each participant must:
    (a)    Go into one of the participating restaurants and go to the front counter and give the codeword “1k Win” to the server. If the Participant is the first person to use the codeword in the correct participating restaurant after the Opening Date but before the Closing Date, the server will present the Golden Bucket and the allocated prize together with a free KFC Bargain Bucket;
    (b)    Send an email with a photo of the successful participant with the Golden Bucket as evidence of winning to the email address provided by the server.
    3.4    No purchase necessary.
    3.5    The Promoter will not accept:
    (a)    responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
    (b)    transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
    3.6    By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.


    4    Eligibility
    4.1    The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except: 
    (a)    employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;
    (b)    employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or
    (c)    members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.
    4.2    In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition (i.e. government issued photographic identification). If the Promoter discovers that you are not eligible to redeem the prize then you will forfeit your entry into this competition.
    4.3    The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
    (a)    automatically generated by computer;
    (b)    completed by third parties;
    (c)    illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or
    (d)    incomplete.
    4.4    There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
    4.5    The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant it believes not to be participating within the spirit of the competition or suspects of participating in any unfair or unjust behaviour. The Promoter reserves the right to use its discretion in all respects and to enforce any penalty or sanction it deems appropriate.
    4.6    The Promoter shall have the right, where necessary, to undertake all reasonable actions necessary to protect itself against fraudulent or invalid entries including, without limitation, to request further verification as to your identity, age, and other relevant details.
    4.7    The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, alter or remove any content posted on the Promoter’s platforms or require any participant to alter or remove any content posted on their own feed or platform in connection with the competition.


    5    The prizes
    5.1    There are five prizes to be won (one prize per restaurant),   and the prizes will be awarded on a first come first serve basis provided the winning participant complies with the terms and conditions of this competition.
    5.2    The available prizes to be won are as follows:
    (a)    1,000 trips to KFC UK & Ireland's participating restaurants to be capped at a maximum value of £10,000 which shall be limited  to £10 to be spent on each visit per day valid for a period of 5 years; 
    (b)    £1,000 to spend in KFC UK & Ireland participating restaurants to be capped at the maximum value of £10 per visit per day until completed spent;
    (c)    A trip to Kentucky (USA) for the Winner and one guest consisting of 2 round trip economy flights (capped at a maximum of £1,000 per flight) and accommodation for 4 nights (capped at £200 per night). All additional expenses to be covered by the Winner including (but not limited to) the following: 
    (i)    any expenses incurred, including but not limited to, all hotel extras, in room dining and mini bars, security deposits, additional activities, entertainment, travel and insurance, are to be covered by the Winner unless otherwise stated;
    (ii)    Any extension of the trip (additional accommodation, flights, car hire, etc.);
    (iii)    Any car hire for the trip. If hiring a car, the Winner must hold a valid driving license as required by the US car hire agency. Car hire can be replaced by alternative travel such as bus/train travel as required.
    5.3    The prizes listed in paragraph 5.2 are subject to availability and there is no guarantee of which prize will be allocated to each winner as the Promoter will determine which prize will be won at each participating restaurant. Unless expressly permitted under these terms and conditions there is no cash alternatives for the prizes.
    5.4    The prizes are not negotiable and the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize or Prizes for a prize of similar value.
    5.5    The Promoter shall provide the winners of the prizes listed at paragraphs 5.2(a) and 5.2(b) with the necessary codes for the KFC to redeem their prizes.


    6    Winners
    6.1    The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after receipt of the fully completed competition entry using the email address provided by the winner on sending in their competition entry under paragraph 3.3. 
    6.2    The   Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that the prizes were awarded . To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of each prize winner, to anyone who emails 1000bucketwinner@freuds.com or writes to the address set out in condition 1 (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Closing Date of the competition.
    6.3    If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter by email at 1000bucketwinner@freuds.com. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

    7    Claiming the prize
    7.1    If you are the winner of the prize, you will have 60 days from the date of the prize has been  won to claim your prize. Certain information will be requested in order to fulfil the Prize. The Prize information shall be delivered via email which is provided by the Winner. If you do not claim the prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.
    7.2    The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
    7.3    The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 60 days of the Closing Date, the Promoter reserves the right to revoke the prize.
    7.4    The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
    7.5    If the Promoter finds that the winner has published and/or shared on any public platform any information which would allow a third party to redeem the prize, or the Promoter identifies transactions across a wide geography at the same time, the Promoter reserves the right to terminate this competition immediately and revoke the prize.
    7.6    The Promoter shall have the right, where necessary, to undertake all reasonable actions necessary to protect itself against fraudulent or invalid entries including, without limitation, to request further verification as to your identity, age, and other relevant details.
    7.7    The Promoter reserves the right at its absolute discretion to disqualify any entries which it considers do not comply with these terms and conditions, or any participant who it reasonably believes has interfered with the fair running of this promotion.
    7.8    The winner will be required to share a variety of date options with the Promoter to organise the Prize trip to Kentucky at a date and time mutually agreed by all parties up until June 2024.

    8    Limitation of liability
    Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

    9    Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights
    9.1    All competition entries submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.
    9.2    By submitting your competition entry, you agree to:
    (a)    assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and
    (b)    waive all moral rights,
    in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.
    9.3    You agree that the Promoter may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website [LINK TO ONLINE T&Cs]   and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry for such purposes.
    9.4    The Promotor reserves the right to use the competition entry imagery provided by all participants for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the Promotor’s website, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and for marketing and PR purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited). 
    9.5    Each winner will be required to sign a content release form and participants understand that, by participating in the competition, they agree to sign that form in the event they are a winner. The Promotor reserves the right to use imagery and/or footage provided by a winner for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the Promotor’s website without additional compensation (except where prohibited). 
    9.6    The winner agrees to be contacted by the Promoter regarding any future campaigns where relevant.
    9.7    If at any time you wish to withdraw from the competition, your request should be made in writing to the Promoter via email at 1000bucketwinner@freuds.com.

    10    Data protection and publicity
    The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the https://www.kfc.co.uk/privacy-policy. See also condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.

    11    General
    11.1    Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this competition should be directed to the Promoter.
    11.2    The Promoter reserves the right, acting reasonably and in accordance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, to vary these terms and conditions.
    11.3    The Promoter will not be responsible or liable for: (a) any failure to receive entries due to transmission failures and other conditions beyond its reasonable control; (b) any late, lost, misrouted, or damaged transmissions or entries; (c) any computer or communications related malfunctions or failures; (d) any disruptions, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of the promoter; or (e) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with this competition.
    11.4    If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
    11.5    The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
    11.6    These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
